Mr. Greg Burns | Chief, Cyber Security Directorate PEO

Greg Burns is the first-ever Cyber Security Directorate Program Executive Office chief. In this position, he leads finance, contract, and program managers providing programmatic oversight and support to the new NSA Cybersecurity Directorate.

Previously, Greg was the Analytic and Engagement Applications chief, where he led the development and sustainment of critical visualization, knowledge management, and reporting and dissemination tools and services used by NSA and intelligence community analysts.

Prior to that, he was the deputy of the Program Executive Office for Processing and Analytic Capabilities, directing and overseeing the acquisition of mission capabilities supporting worldwide analysts.

Greg is retired from the United States Air Force, where he primarily served as a SIGINT officer and program manager with assignments in Germany, Crete, Japan and several continental U.S. locations. He culminated a 27-year active-duty career as the SIGINT director at NSA/CSS Hawaii and began civilian service at NSA in 2010 as a program manager. He has also served as the program manager for the Cryptanalytic Services Development & Integration (CSDI) program (at the time, one of the Agency's six Major Systems Acquisition (MSA) programs), the deputy Analysis and Production Investment Portfolio Manager, contract manager for two large contracts supporting computer network operations, program manager for the Real-Time Regional Gateway program, and deputy program manager for Net-Centric capabilities Increment 3, another MSA program.

Greg is a 1982 graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History and earned additional Master's Degrees in Business Management from Webster's University and Resourcing National Security from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

He received the 2016 Intelligence Community's Program Manager of the Year award.

Greg resides in Eldersburg, Maryland with his wife Susan. They have two grown children, and Greg enjoys running.
