AFCEA CMD hosts an annual Awards Night where we bring together students, teachers, sponsors, members, Government, and guests to celebrate scientific education achievements from throughout the year. We distribute over $250,000 in scientific education funds through scholarships and grants to students and schools. We will recognize local area high school seniors receiving scholarships. These deserving students will start their first year of college in the fall to pursue degrees in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field of study. We recognize teachers and schools who received Kickstarter grants to bring STEM education into the K-12 classroom. The selection process for all awardees is handled tirelessly throughout the year by the various AFCEA CMD Education Committees. Awards Night includes a keynote speaker, presentations, a large presence of Government and industry attendees, special guests, student demonstrations, networking, and dinner.
